Every breath, precisely delivered.
ABOUT THIS CATEGORY
TOTOMED ventilator circuits are engineered to match the gas delivery requirements of modern ICU ventilators. Our corrugated and smooth-bore circuit designs accommodate both adult and paediatric patients, with integrated water traps, HME filters, and catheter mounts. Each circuit undergoes flow-resistance testing to ensure compliance within the working range of Hamilton, Draeger, Maquet, and Mindray ventilator platforms.
CLINICAL CONTEXT
Why this matters at the bedside.
Ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) remains one of the leading healthcare-associated infections in ICU settings globally. Circuit design directly influences infection risk: circuits with inadequate condensation management accumulate pooled secretions that become a reservoir for pathogenic bacteria. TOTOMED circuits incorporate low-resistance water traps positioned to prevent retrograde condensate migration, and our HME filter range achieves bacterial filtration efficiency (BFE) >99.99% at rated flow rates.
CLINICAL USE CASES
Where our products make the difference.
Intensive Care Units
Standard adult dual-limb circuits with integrated water traps for long-term ventilation.
Anaesthesia
Coaxial circuits compatible with circle systems; available in 1.5 m and 1.8 m lengths.
Neonatal ICU
Ultra-low dead-space neonatal circuits with 10 mm bore to match NICU ventilator requirements.
Transport Ventilation
Reinforced corrugated circuits that maintain patency during patient transport.
WHY IT MATTERS
For mechanically ventilated patients, the circuit IS the airway. A circuit that leaks, disconnects under pressure, or delivers inaccurate tidal volumes can be immediately life-threatening. TOTOMED's manufacturing process includes 100% pressure-leak testing of every circuit at 40 cmH₂O before packaging — not sampling. We reject any circuit that shows >3 mL/min leak at working pressure.
